Mrs. Ninjamunkey decided that we needed to find a new car for her, and the rest of the family. Well ok, to be fair, I really pushed the issue since I noticed our present car (04 Grand Am) had dropped about 3k in value in the last month.

So we go out shopping. We went back to the dealer we bought it from in the first place, and found a vehicle that was pretty good, plain, but good. After going through the process of figuring out what we wanted, we realized that thier financial office was going to finance us as if we has the plague. Not only were the rates going to be high, but the payment would have been more than we wanted, and it was still a used car. No thank you.

So we went home, and after looking at the paper, I saw an ad for the perfect SUV. Of course history tells me that when a car is featured in an ad, it is the only one in the county at that price, and has been sold for 6 months, but I call anyway, and find it is still there. We go look, and its perfect. Then the dance begins.

If you have never dealt with a new car dealership, they ask what you want to pay, then come back with a number so much higher, you have to laugh. "Yes, I would love to pay 900 a month for the next 10 years, and give you 10,000 down. My trade, yes it is only worth 200 bucks" Does anyone ever look at these numbers and sign off?

So after the back and forth, me sticking to my guns, we get to where I wanted to be 2 hours earlier, and golly we got a new car!
